  • Pheasants Wander is a beautiful 1 bedroom barn apartment in a tranquil, rural setting between St Austell and Newquay. It was completely refurbished in January 2023 and furnished with classic Ercol furniture.

Pheasants Wander is situated at Rosewyn, a 5 acre smallholding located 1 mile down a quiet country lane from Summercourt village and the A30, making it the perfect base to explore Cornwall, while being deep in the countryside in a near timeless setting.

As you approach Pheasants Wander you’ll see the view over the Cornish countryside and towards Cornwalls Clay country. You may even spot the swallows, pheasants and buzzards!

You’ll park in the courtyard in a designated space and make your way around the side of the building to the Stable door entrance.

  • As you enter the property you’ll find there is a shower room to your left which has a shower, toilet, basin and towel radiator. The bedroom is to your left with an Ercol kingsize bed with 2000 pocket sprung mattress.

In front of you is the open plan kitchen and lounge with French doors through to the dining room and office area. The Office area has a desk, office chair and a Xerox air printer, all served by 350Mbs wifi which is available throughout the apartment.

There is a 43” LG Smart TV with free Netflix, Amazon Prime and FreeSat. And for coffee we provide a Lavazza ‘A Modo Mio Jolie’ machine with a supply of free coffee pods, Oh, and a pint of milk!

Please note, we have a no pets policy in Pheasants Wander and all of our other homes.

  • Outside you have your own patio with a picnic bench outside the front door. There is a clothes airer on the gravel path that you can use too, but please be mindful that it is shared with other guests.

At Rosewyn ecology and environment are important to us, we have two solar panel arrays, a borehole for the best fresh Cornish water, an endangered UK hardwood tree planing project with over 100 trees planted so far. An Orchard of rare Cornish cider and eating apples, a 4 acre rewilded field, a County wildlife site, an Owl box (current vacant) and we line dry linen whenever possible.

A walk around the field is a step back in time and an opportunity to get close to nature. You will see many birds at rosewyn from small songbirds, to Owls, Buzzards, Magpies, Pigeons, Pheasants, Kestrels (rarely) and if you are really lucky a Barn Owl at dusk.

At night we benefit form dark skies so on a clear moonless night you will see the Milky Way, and a certain times of the year - shooting stars.
